Can you sell a personalised plate in Michigan?
Michigan: no way to hold the plate for a named buyer
What the law says
A personalized combination "must not be given to a different person in a subsequent year unless the person to whom the plate was issued does not reapply." It comes free only on non-renewal, and then to whoever applies - not to a buyer the holder names.

Why TagsTrader does not list Michigan plates
TagsTrader does not list plates from Michigan, because a sale here cannot be relied on to close. Everywhere else on this site a buyer's fee buys an introduction to a deal that can close. In Michigan it would buy an introduction to a race the buyer cannot see, cannot time and cannot price, and our own listing page would tell every rival exactly which combination was about to come free. A warning does not fix that, because we cannot state the odds either.
What TagsTrader does and does not do
We are a match-maker: we introduce a buyer and a seller who would otherwise never find each other. Listing a plate is free. A buyer pays a fee to open contact with the seller, and nothing else.
We are not a party to your sale, we hold no funds, we cannot make your state approve anything, and we do not guarantee any outcome. The transfer itself is between you, the other party and your state authority. This page is a description, not advice: we publish no forms, templates or tax guidance.
