1. Introduction

TagsTrader, operated by Madinina Data Systems LLC, a California limited liability company ("we," "us," "our," or "Company"), is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you visit our website TagsTrader.com (the "Platform"), including all related applications, services, and tools.

Please read this Privacy Policy carefully. If you do not agree with our policies and practices, please do not use our Platform. By accessing and using TagsTrader, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by all the provisions of this Privacy Policy.

2. Information We Collect

We collect information in the following ways:

2.1 Information You Provide Directly

• Account: If you sign in with Google, the name, email address and profile picture Google shares with us. If you sign in with a link we email you, your email address. We never ask for or store a password. We also record when you accepted the Terms and which version.
• Contact details you add: Optionally, a phone number and preferred contact method in your profile settings. A seller must add a phone number before accepting an offer.
• Listing Information: The plate, where it is registered, your asking price, description, its meaning and keywords, and a photo of the plate.
• Verification Documents: If you submit a listing for review, a photo of the plate's registration document and, optionally, the vehicle's VIN (see section 3).
• Offers and Messages: Offers, counter-offers and messages you send through the Platform.
• Payments: You enter card details on Stripe's checkout page; they never reach us. We keep a record of each payment: what it was for, the amount, its status, the time and your account email.
• Wanted List: Plates you add to your Wanted list, with any note you write.
• Valuations: The plates you ask us to value, linked to your account if you are signed in.
• Support and Bug Reports: Questions you ask the support assistant, which are answered and not stored, and bug reports you send, which are stored with any name and email you include.

2.2 Information Collected Automatically

• Pages Viewed: The address of each page you view (without its query string), the page that referred you, whether your device is a mobile, and any campaign tags or advertising click identifiers in the link you arrived by. If you are signed in, these are linked to your account.
• Actions: A small set of actions, such as pressing a sign-in or listing button.
• Visitor Code: To count visitors, a code computed from your IP address, browser identifier and the date. It changes every day, and your IP address is not stored with these records.
• Sign-in Sessions: When you sign in, your IP address and browser identifier are stored with your session.
• Abuse Protection: Our rate limits read your IP address in memory to stop abuse; it is not stored for this purpose.
• Cookies and Browser Storage: See section 9. We use no advertising cookies, pixels or third-party analytics.

2.3 Information from Third Parties

• Google: Your name, email address and profile picture, if you sign in with Google.
• Stripe: Whether a payment you made succeeded, failed or expired.
• Documents you upload: We read the registration document you provide. We do not access DMV databases.

3. How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect for the following purposes:

• Platform Operation: Running your account, your listings, offers and messages, and taking the fees described in the Terms
• Valuations: Producing plate estimates; the plate text is sent to an AI model to read its meaning
• Listing Review: An AI model reads your registration document to extract the plate, VIN, the owner's name and the vehicle's make, model and year, which we compare with your listing and the name on your account. A VIN is also checked against the US government's public vehicle database (NHTSA). An AI model also reviews the plate photo and listing text before a listing goes live
• Communication: Emails about your account and activity: sign-in links, the result of a listing review, checks that a listing is still for sale, and alerts when a plate on your Wanted list is listed. We do not send promotional email
• Support: Answering support questions and triaging bug reports, both with the help of an AI model
• Analytics: Understanding which pages and advertising campaigns bring visitors, so we can improve the Platform
• Legal Compliance: Fulfilling legal obligations, responding to lawful requests, and protecting rights
• Safety: Detecting, preventing, and addressing fraud, security issues, and abuse

4. How We Share Your Information

We may share your information in the following circumstances:

4.1 Between Users

When you message someone through the Platform, they see your account name with the message. A listing does not show its seller's name until the seller chooses to reveal it to a buyer who has paid to contact them, or accepts that buyer's offer. We do not give the other party your email address or phone number; any contact outside the Platform is for the two of you to arrange.

4.2 Service Providers

We share information with the service providers that run the Platform for us. Naming them rather than describing them in the abstract: Stripe (payments), Resend (email), Cloudflare (content delivery, file storage and email routing), Railway (hosting), Neon (database), and Google (sign-in; the Gemini AI model, which receives the plate text you value, listing photos and text, registration documents, support questions and bug reports; and the web fonts the site loads, which means Google receives your IP address when a page loads). A VIN you provide is looked up in NHTSA's public vehicle database.

4.3 Advertising Platforms

When we advertise, we use Meta Platforms, Inc. (Facebook and Instagram). A tag on this site, and a matching report sent from our server, tell Meta which pages a visitor saw and whether they listed a plate or paid a fee, so we can tell which advert produced a result. This may include a device or browser identifier, an advertising click identifier that Meta itself adds to the link, and your IP address.

We have never sold personal information for money and do not intend to. The activity described above is nevertheless “sharing” under California law, and you may refuse it at any time through Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information. We also honour the Global Privacy Control signal automatically, so if your browser sends one you are opted out without doing anything further. Where you have opted out, events are sent to Meta with Limited Data Use applied.

As of this version, no advertising platform receives any data from this site; the section describes what happens once advertising begins.

4.4 Legal Requirements

We may disclose information if required by law, court order, government request, or to protect our legal rights, privacy, safety, or property.

4.5 Business Transfers

If TagsTrader is acquired, merged, or sold, your information may be transferred as part of that transaction. We will provide notice before your information becomes subject to a different privacy policy.

4.6 Aggregated Data

We may share aggregated, anonymized data (such as market trends or usage statistics) with partners and the public without identifying you.

5. Data Security

We protect your information with encryption in transit (HTTPS across the site), a managed database and object storage from established providers, and sign-in through Google or a one-time emailed link, so we hold no passwords. However, no method of transmission over the internet is completely secure. While we strive to protect your information, we cannot guarantee absolute security. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials.

6. Your Privacy Rights

Depending on your location, you may have the following rights:

6.1 Access and Portability

You have the right to access your personal information and request a copy in a portable format. There is no self-service export yet; write to us and we will provide it.

6.2 Correction and Deletion

You can request correction of inaccurate information or deletion of your data, subject to legal retention requirements.

6.3 Marketing

We do not send promotional emails. If that changes, every one will carry an unsubscribe link. To stop Wanted-list alerts, remove the plate from your Wanted list.

6.4 Cookie Management

You can control cookies through your browser settings. Note that disabling cookies may affect Platform functionality.

6.5 GDPR Rights (EU Residents)

If you are located in the European Union, you have additional rights under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), including the right to withdraw consent and lodge complaints with your data protection authority.

6.6 CCPA Rights (California Residents)

If you are a California resident, you have rights under the California Consumer Privacy Act, as amended by the CPRA: to know what we hold about you, to have it corrected or deleted, to opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information, and not to be treated worse for exercising any of them. We do not charge different prices or withhold features from anyone who opts out.

Exercise the opt-out at Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information, or simply switch on Global Privacy Control in your browser — we treat that as a valid request and honour it automatically. For any other right, write to us and we will answer within the time the statute allows.

7. Plate Transfers

TagsTrader does not take part in transferring a plate and keeps no transfer records. Buyer and seller complete the transfer with the issuing authority themselves. We do not share your information with DMVs or other authorities unless the law requires it.

8. Data Retention

Page views, recorded actions and AI usage records are deleted automatically after two years. A registration document file is deleted once its automatic check reaches a verdict, or when you delete the listing; the details read from it stay with the listing's verification record. Other information is kept while your account exists or for as long as needed to resolve disputes and meet legal obligations. You can ask us to delete your account and its data at any time, subject to legal retention requirements; there is no self-service deletion yet.

9. Cookies and Browser Storage

We set two cookies:

• A sign-in cookie that keeps you signed in
• A cookie that remembers whether a side panel is open

Your browser also keeps some settings on your own device: your theme, your privacy choice, the sound setting, whether you have seen a safety notice, and an unfinished listing draft so it survives sign-in. We use no web beacons, advertising pixels or third-party analytics cookies.

You can clear cookies and site data through your browser settings; you will then be signed out.

10. Third-Party Links

The Platform may contain links to third-party websites and services. We are not responsible for their privacy practices. We encourage you to review their privacy policies before providing personal information.

11. Children's Privacy

The Platform is not intended for users under 18 years of age. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If we become aware that a child has provided information, we will delete it promptly. Parents or guardians who believe their child has provided information should contact us immediately.

12. International Data Transfers

Your information may be stored and processed in countries other than your country of residence, whose data protection laws may differ from your home country's. TagsTrader is operated from the United States, and the providers named in section 4.2 may process your information in the United States or other countries.

13. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy periodically to reflect changes in our practices, technology, legal requirements, or other factors. We will notify you of material changes by posting the updated policy on the Platform and updating the "Last Updated" date. Your continued use of the Platform following such notification constitutes your acceptance of the updated Privacy Policy.
